Inspiring Minds: Engaging Children in Inquiry and Problem-Solving Through Children’s Literature
A one-day session designed for Kindergarten to Grade 3 educators. Breakfast and Lunch included.the opportunity to use children’s literature to connect and engage in hands-on/minds-on learning experiences that support the development of the skills of inquiry, problem solving, communication, creativity, critical thinking and collaboration. This session will draw upon resources available on Webs of Wonder, Let’s Talk Science’s free online searchable database of integrated, cross-curricular explorations and investigations for use by early years and primary grade educators.
Participants will:
- Meet and collaborate with colleagues and engage in meaningful discussions.
- Learn how to support the development of inquiry, problem solving and STEM through the use of children’s literature.
- Explore and plan using Webs of Wonder’s hands-on/minds-on learning explorations, investigations and supporting resource.
