About ISTEP
Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress Plus (ISTEP+) is the state test being administered in Indiana. ISTEP+ measures student performance in Math and English Language Arts, Science (Grade 4 & 6) and Social Studies (Grade 5 & 7). The ISTEP program is based on the Indiana Academic Standards and verifies student achievement levels accurately. Indiana educators have played an important role in developing the accountability assessments.
Indiana Academic Standards were adopted by the Indiana Board of Education in April of 2014. To measure if these standards are met, ISTEP+ includes two components – an applied skills open-ended assessment (Part 1) and a multiple-choice and technology-enhanced item assessment (Part 2).
