My name is Eva Serrano and I have been teaching grades 3-5 for the last fourteen years in Greeley district 6. I have participated in science, history, math and science grants for English language learners for the last five years. “Lisa Mitchell is the Math Counts Coach and sixth grade math teacher at LISA Academy North, an open enrollment public charter school in Sherwood, AR. She has taught here one year, after teaching 25 years in the private school sector where she taught math, science, and English at grade levels 6-10. She also taught 6th grade for three years at Lewis County Middle School in Hohenwald, TN. Her students consistently score above average on standardized tests, including NWEA. Her Math Counts team placed second at the district level this year and went on to complete at the state level. Ms. Mitchell has a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education with a minor in communications. She has 12 hours of graduate level work and is enrolled in the ESL Academy for Arkansas teachers this summer where she will complete another 9 hours. She was named Teacher of the Month for January at LISA Academy and early in her career received the prestigious honor of being recognized as an Outstanding Young Woman of America.
